How much do Aaron Wallis charge?
Here at Aaron Wallis, we charge 15% of the candidate’s first-year basic remuneration if we are instructed as a sole agency to recruit for your vacancy. We often refer to the sole agency as ‘exclusivity’ in other videos, explanations and our terms. We charge 20% of the candidate’s first-year remuneration on a multiple agency basis.
We do not charge for providing a company car or ask for a proportion of other benefits, such as pension contributions, share save schemes, private health, etc (many recruiters do). In addition, we do not charge on non-guaranteed commissions, so for illustration, if the role is £30K Basic and £50K OTE (On target earnings), we will only charge on the £30K basic salary element.

How does the rebate scheme work?
As long as our payment terms of 30 days are met, then our 12-month rebate scheme applies. This means that if the candidate resigns or dies during the first year of employment, then a proportion of the fee is repaid to you to recruit the replacement.
In the first four weeks, this is a free replacement candidate. A 40% rebate of the original fee is paid back to you from months two to six, and in months seven to twelve, it is 20%.
In addition, if the candidate leaves your business in the first six months, we will re-recruit for you at 40% of the original fee, which in effect provides you with a six months free replacement scheme.

How does the fixed fee work?
We fix our fee at the mid-range of the salary range on offer for our exclusive clients.
For instance, if you are looking to recruit at a range of £40K to £50K, we will fix our fee, on an exclusive basis, at 15% of £45k.
Unlike most other recruiters, we will detail this fee as a fixed fee rather than a percentage, and our Terms of Business can be found on our site.
Why an Exclusivity Period?
An exclusive period allows us to dedicate proper time and resources to your project with the knowledge that it is highly likely that we will get a return on our investment and resources. We will provide you with a better service than we would on a 'multiple agency' basis as your project will be prioritised.
How long is the exclusivity period?
Typically we ask for two to three weeks as an exclusive period which enables us to search our databases, proactively approach and engage candidates, and allow the candidates to research and confirm their interest before submitting the shortlist to you.
Then, if the shortlist doesn't quite meet your requirements, we still have a small window in which to revisit your specification and get it right for you.
Can Aaron Wallis Tailor Their Service?
Aaron Wallis are small enough and flexible enough to tailor their service to your needs.
Should you need to capture diversity statistics, run your own testing through the process, require the capture of certificates or qualifications, applications forms, etc., then we can accommodate this for you into our process.
What are the main benefits of using Aaron Wallis?
At Aaron Wallis, we have an experienced team of recruitment consultants with extensive industry knowledge, dedicated to finding the right job for each individual. We use the latest recruitment software for efficient, cost-effective, and compliant processes. We ensure high-quality service and support, offering flexible recruitment options. Our professionalism and integrity guarantee ethical practices, ultimately saving you time and money.
Can You Recruit for a Business of my Size?
Our client base ranges from three employee SMEs to multinational corporates.
We will provide the same level of service regardless of your company size. We do require all clients to meet minimum credit rating criteria, and most start-ups will still meet these criteria.
What Is An Ideal Aaron Wallis Client?
Openness throughout and beyond the recruitment process will give you the best possible chance of success.
It is a 'false economy' to portray a role differently to candidates than the actual reality at an interview. For instance, if the position requires 60 calls a day making appointments for the field sales team, there is no point in describing it as a 'marketing' role with creative responsibilities – you will attract the wrong person, they will hate working for you, and simply put they will leave you very quickly! Similarly, dressing up the package, potential earnings, working environment and key performance indicators will also get new staff exiting your business quickly.
The more open you are with us from the outset regarding why you are looking, the advantages of joining your business, the culture, the day-to-day expectations, the company direction, etc., the more likely we are to find the right person for your business.
So the ideal client is someone that is open, has realistic expectations and has a good understanding of what they expect their new member of staff to bring to their business.
How Many Candidates in a Typical Shortlist?
Typically we will provide you with between two and five candidates in a shortlist, though this will, of course, be dependent on how specific your requirements are.
Some employer clients like to see a larger pool of candidates in a shortlist. Conversely, some employers just want to meet one candidate.
So, if this is the case, then simply ask your consultant.
How Long to Shortlist?
Typically it will take five working days to revert with a properly qualified shortlist.
Again, we will work with you, so should you require it sooner, simply ask your consultant, and we will do our best to deliver!
What sectors do you specialise in?
Our technical consultants specialise in engineering, electronics, construction and M&E.
Our commercial consultants specialise in B2B, Business Services, FMCG and broad IT.

Our core recruitment service includes access to our skills testing suite of over 1100 skills tests.
Standard tests that our clients regularly use are Verbal Reasoning, Numerical Reasoning, Sales Concepts, Outbound Sales Skills, U.K. Business Writing and Basic Office Skills (a single test that is a mix of spelling, grammar, arithmetic, filing and general office etiquette).
In addition, we are able to provide you with access to nearly all commercially available tests and have relationships with all of the major human skills testing providers.
When using third-party testing suppliers, our policy is to pass on the cost to you from the supplier with no profit.
How Do Aaron Wallis Manage Unccessful Candidates?
We will call them within 24 hours of hearing your decision and provide them with the full reasons, constructive criticism (if given) and tips for future interviews.
The more information that you can provide to us, the better we can help steer them in the right direction for future interviews.
How do we check and reference candidates?
Our standard service confirms a candidate's identity, address, and UK work eligibility via third-party credit agencies, providing a report before the candidate starts. Qualifications are only verified if legally required. We recommend our CV Verification service, costing £50-£175+VAT, through third-party agencies. This service ensures peace of mind by verifying candidate claims. Aaron Wallis offers Standard, Enhanced, and Senior Candidate Checks, costing £125-£195+VAT, taking three to seven working days.
Are You Able to Headhunt for Me?
The simple answer is yes! Nearly all of our consultants have received specific headhunting training and are well versed in successful approaches and techniques. Headhunting is actually very simple but very time-consuming. Talk to your consultant regarding your requirements, and we will talk you through the best ways to achieve results.
Typically we will ask for a retainer to cover our expenses and time, and the amount is dependent on how hard it will be to source and target your ideal applicants.

What Are the Payment Terms at Aaron Wallis Sales Recruitment?
Aaron Wallis payment terms are 30 days from the date of invoice.
These payment terms have to be met for our rebate scheme to apply.
To help ensure that you qualify for our rebate scheme, we will write to you at the point of the candidate's verbal offer and acceptance to remind you of our payment terms. In addition, we will detail it on your invoice and send you a courtesy reminder letter two weeks after the candidate starts with you.
