Experience Marketing Jobs & Recruitment
Experience Marketing Description
Experience marketing, or engagement/live/event/special marketing, is the marketing of a brand using real-world experiences. Experience marketing offers brands a way for potential consumers to directly interact with them in real life, which can greatly increase the chance of brand recall, but also generate positive associations with a brand.
Experience marketing is fun and often larger-than-life , using flashy and interactive displays to entice consumers and persuade them to enage with the brand - it's great for engagement, but also can be used to re-shape a brand's meaning. Famous examples include Red Bull's Stratos - the stratosphere freefall which broke records and garnered world-wire attention; earlier in 2018 Converse launched an exclusive boutique hotel using exciting influencers to give the brand more prominence amongst mainstream music and fashion fans. There's a lot of scope and excitement in experience marketing.
Experience Marketing Salaries
Experience marketing salaries really depend on the agency or company you work for, many start around £25,000, but can reach dizzying heights with seniority, with mid-weight roles bringing in around £35,000. Experiential marketing roles tend to open doors to senior management and director roles, due to their hands-on involvement with large budgets and in-depth campaign planning which usually provide solid data to use in future case studies.
What Makes a Good Experience Marketer?
Good experiential marketers are organized and meticulous - able to manage large budgets and deliver on multiple avenues simultaneously. Experiential marketers have to deal with clients and suppliers, so can be considered a business development role, therefore communication and relationship building skills are crucial. Good experience marketers also need to be creative and innovative, being able to design campaigns which make a brand stand out, and more importantly drive engagement and awareness.
